On November 14, 2013 the Ministry of Education published Saskatchewan’s Action Plan to Address Bullying and Cyberbullying.  One of the proposed actions in that report is to promote citizenship education resources in the classroom. 

The SHRC is collaborating with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Justice, practicing teachers, and other key stakeholders to prepare citizenship education materials for the Pre-K to Grade 12 classrooms in our province.  As the Action Plan notes, “[w]hen a child or youth understands and can communicate to others their ‘rights and responsibilities,’ their relationships will be based on respect for self and for others.”
