March 5, 2012

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – The Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission (SHRC) offices in Saskatoon and Regina are open and functioning normally despite public statements made by recently laid-off employees.

“As always, our offices are open and ready to serve the people of Saskatchewan,” says Rebecca McLellan, Executive Director for the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission. “Anyone who claims otherwise is misinformed.”

The Commission’s offices in Saskatoon and Regina are open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily, closing for lunch. To schedule an appointment, Saskatchewan residents should call (306) 933-5952 in Saskatoon and (306) 787-2530 in Regina.

The Chief Commissioner of the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission, David Arnot, emphasized the Commission’s continuing efforts to provide better service for those who need it.

“We have restructured our operations and renewed our mandate to better serve the people of Saskatchewan. It is business as usual at the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission.”
