Enabling Accessibility Fund

April 4, 2018

“Our communities are stronger and everyone benefits when all members of society are included. The Enabling Accessibility Fund aims to do just that, and plays an important role in making sure that Canadians of all abilities are fully included in their workplaces and communities. ”

The Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science and Minister of Sport and Persons with Disabilities

The Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission supports initiatives that reduce barriers to accessibility, and promote inclusion of people with disabilities in all areas of public life. That is why the Commission encourages eligible Indigenous and not-for-profit organizations, and municipalities in Saskatchewan to apply for the Enabling Accessibility Fund.”

The Government of Canada is currently accepting applications from eligible organizations interested in receiving contribution funding for mid-sized projects. Funding will support the construction, renovation, and retrofit of accessible facilities or venues in Canadian communities that offer or plan to offer programs and/or services that focus on a holistic approach in  addressing the  social and/or labour integration needs of people with disabilities.
