Courageous Conversations with Dr. Rachel Loewen Walker

The Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission continues its Courageous Conversation speaker series on Thursday, November 5, 2020, at 10:00 AM.

The speaker is Dr. Rachel Loewen Walker. Her Courageous Conversation is titled “Identity is a River: Toward a Braver Politics of Gender and Sexuality.”

Rachel is the Ariel F. Sallows Chair in Human Rights with the College of Law at the University of Saskatchewan. Prior to this, she served as the executive director of OUTSaskatoon for nearly seven years where she worked with an incredible team to support 2SLGBTQ people in Saskatoon and across the province.

Rachel has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Alberta. Throughout Rachel’s community and academic work she has developed expertise in non-profit organization management, leadership, and policy analysis, while focusing on opening up spaces for social change, cultural diversity, and greater collaboration across non-profit, university, governmental, and other spheres.
