Courageous Conversations with Lauren Scharfstein

The Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission continues its Courageous Conversation speaker series on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at 10:00 AM.

The speaker for our virtual Courageous Conversation is Lauren Scharfstein. Her conversation is titled “Hate Speech in Modern Times: The Rise of the Internet and the Decline of Regulation.”

In 2017, Lauren received her Juris Doctor with Great Distinction from the University of Saskatchewan, where she was awarded the Law Society of Saskatchewan Bronze Medal for finishing third overall in her graduating class. Following graduation, she completed her articles with Court of Appeal for Saskatchewan in Regina. She is currently an associate lawyer at Scharfstein Gibbings Walen Fisher LLP in Saskatoon.

Lauren is a member of the Advisory Committee for the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission and is actively involved with the Concentus Citizenship Education Foundation, a non-profit organization whose mandate is to advance education focused on responsible citizenship in an intentional manner.
