International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation 2020

February 6, 2020

The Government of Saskatchewan has declared February 6, 2020, as “International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation” in Saskatchewan.

In 2012, the United Nations General Assembly designated February 6 as International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation in order to amplify and direct the efforts on the elimination of this practice.

The UN is striving for full eradication of this practice by 2030. Achieving this goal in the next decade will require support from every quarter, every region, every country.
