Lunch and Learn with Dana Soonias

The Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission continues its Employment Equity Partner Lunch and Learn series on Thursday, January 25, 202at 12:00 p.m.

The guest speaker is Dana Soonias. His presentation – Lived experience of Indigenous peoples within government and large private organizations – will explore what reconciliation means to Indigenous people in the workplace and how that impact surpasses mainstream understanding of culture and diversity in recruitment and retention strategies.

Meet the Speaker

Dana is a member of Red Pheasant First Nation in Saskatchewan. Over the past 20 years, he has held senior positions with financial, Indigenous, and government institutions with lead roles in industry, finance, business, and economic development. Dana holds a Certified Aboriginal Financial Manager (CAFM) designation through the Aboriginal Financial Officers Association (AFOA) Canada. He also received his Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) designation from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.  Most recently, Dana has taken on the role of the Senior Indigenous Advisor to the Assistant Deputy Minister in Lands and Corporate Services with the Ministry of Energy and Resources in Saskatchewan.
